A handful in the rain don't give you P2. Maybe Ferrari or RP are a handful in the rain as you've seen it. And if not of that last spin, it would be more closer with HAM.

Handling in the rain is not bad, but that last run from VER the back end was nervous. Obviously the driver-car combo HAM-MERC was better to day, may be due to tire temp, who knows.

Compared to the Mercedes it is a handfull, especially the throttle response. At times it looked like he was wrestling a literal Red Bull.

HAM is a beast in rain driving. Look at Bottas with the same car...

Or maybe the driver will always be better in totally wet conditions which is sort of impossible for you to admit 😉

No thats not impossible to admit, but you have to factor in difference in car handling. It's quite difficult, especially in those conditions, to compare drivers if they don't have same machinery.

Except when it's the Red Bull lead driver then it becomes a matter of "pure raw unmatchable genetic talent" 😂

LOL, I just watched qualifying. I'll post my comment in the race thread. Verstappen did nothing wrong, there was one thing Hamilton did that no one else did which gave him pole.

In fact, I just watched Verstappens interview, they were trying also to be at perfect distance. Just bad luck vettel spun out and headed into the pit at the moment Verstappen got there. If not gap would have been .6 to .8 and Max would have been up on Albon as much as lewis on Bottas. The Red Bull is not there yet, hopefully it will come. I won’t post in the race thread much for the constant abuse by the same tag team.

some people actually blaming Verstappen for that spin when it's clear that Vettel forced him to go wide LMAO

Just ignore them.

More worrying: RB really need to make their car more stable, especially at the back.

It is always the same in that forum. Same people declaring victory, that is the Still that, today also was a great performance by Hamilton. But then it goes to a denial fest about Verstappen and from that it Deteriorates even into bashing. Name calling and all. There is just so much frustration being taken out.

Max is top class wet weather driver. Clearly the chassis does not inspire as much as confidence as the Mercedes does. The car has appeared skittish. Not saying it isn't good, it is the second best chassis but by some distance. The drivers appear to be on the edge while driving it while the Merc appears to be on rails.

Indeed W11 is on rails while the RB16 is on a knife edge. When the knife goes the right way all is oke, but as soon as conditions change it loses alot to the Merc.

Max still seems so confident and down to earth. Haven’t seen him phased yet this season. Hopefully they can do well tomorrow!
