I do think the last pitstop for Sainz might have cost them points, he was too far back when the pink and yellow cars decided to explore the edges of the track.
The pitstop definitely cost some points today and this is the second race in a row where we have issues with them (also, same tire rear left) as in last week...

If we can’t fix our race pace/high fuel pace quickly, then we can’t afford to have pit stops like today. That should be easier to take care of.
Yes we have a problem i was surprised we were more than 1s slower
Not sure why you think our high fuel pace is an issue. We were 5th, that's best of the rest. Our car isn't faster than RBR, We get close with Albon driving but that's about it. Sainz let him past cause we weren't racing them.
Probably because the pace of the cars around us was quicker in that first stint... Lando fell of the DRS train rather quickly after both Stroll and Perez went pass him and Carlos struggled to break from the DRS with Ocon (and had RIC cut the gap in a few laps by the end of the first stint)... The pace does seem stronger on the second stint.

Finally, because that’s what the team has stated in a few occasions by now... And, I have a tendency to believe them.

Another tid bit... Mclaren has scored more points in 2 races, than in the whole 2015 and 2017 seasons respectively!

Now can you make a comparison of Mclaren Honda vs Mclaren Renault?

The points system is a bit misleading in formula 1, although of course there are facts.

There are many differences than only engines. They have better organisation, better chasis, better drivers and better leadership structure. And the most important thing of them all - they got the harsh realization they were the problem.

I am pretty sure that current managment lineup would perform far better with Honda engines, as they did back then.

The next indicator of overall progresion of the team, will be instalation of Mercedes unit in the back of their car with all of the handicap they will face, since they wont be allowed to chase for pure performance.

What do you mean they won't be allowed to chase for pure performance? I am pretty sure Mercedes is obligated by the rules to give the same performance in engines in both their cars and their customers.

The chassis needs to be changed for Mercedes engines. Due to Covid, there are limitations how much you can change and McLaren will not be allowed to use tokens for performance, only to make necessary changes to fit the engine.

Other teams can develop their chassis slightly. In effect, it will be a small penalty to McLaren but hopefully Mercedes engine is a bigger improvement.

I am pretty sure that they can create a new chassis fit for the Mercedes Engines and make the car better.

With the rules for 2021, you're not allowed to do structural work to improve performance, but McLaren has to do some serious engineering to fit a Mercedes into the Renault bay, so the FIA said they have to do the work without a boost in performance.

Agreed - there’s been a good long look in the mirror and some hands held up to say hey- we needed to start from scratch and it’s made a huge difference.

Honda were just in their infancy and they needed time- they are much improved now as are McLaren the racing team. I still shiver at the Boullier era.

There’s a hunger and a humility about this team now- whereas 3 years ago it was entitlement. It feels like a huge cultural shift and IF this team ever gets back to the top again, man will they be much more fun and accessible.
