*Red Bull was marginally quicker in the SLOWEST corner (singular) of the Red Bull Ring, which is turn 3 (~72 - 75 km/h min. speed in dry qualy), in the borderline slow turn 4 (~113 - 118 km/h) Mercedes already had the upper hand in both race's qualifying...search wrote: ↑16 Jul 2020, 16:30it's correct of course, that different components, setups and so on (compared to Austria) will have an influence, but I'd say the fact that Red Bull was quickest in the slow corners (more of those in Hunagry) and that Mercedes gained most of their advantage at the end of the long straights (none of those in Hungary) due to more efficiant ERS, at least makes it reasonable to believe that it's gonna be a lot closer at the front.
And then there was the Barcelona winter test, where Mercedes' long run low speed performance (T5, T10, T12, T14-15) was comparable to Red Bull's....
