Soft tyres are overheating, warmer than they expected. I don't think they quite nailed the setup yesterday unfortunately.

That is a pity. We didn't really go for a second run.

But why go for a used set in the 2nd run and new in the 1st, isn’t it usually the other way round?
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

P8&9, as expected. We're in the mix though which is encouraging. Hoping for rain for tomorrow.

I wonder why they didn't really go for a second run. Did they not expect to improve? Do they expect rain tomorrow?

It shows how much the team is improving that a P8-P9 feels disappointing... But, it is a great effort from the team, into Q3 and close to both Ferrari’s and Red Bull... The RP’s like was said since before the season started are really fast and the gap showed today seems bigger than I was hoping for, but still a lot of season to go for.

Tomorrow’s race day and still everything to play for.

We've been chasing our tails a bit this weekend. But still opportunities esp if Ferrari struggles or there is rain

No fresh tyre to do the second run just hope for a good strategy in the race to jump the ferraris

Yeah I think that was pretty solid given the circumstances. If you took Merc out of the comparisons, they’re only a few tenths behind last years car (W10) which means solid gains so far.
The Merc engine stands out as well. It’s clear they’ve found quite a few horses....

What’s encouraging is there is no stand out weak point as far as I can tell. It’s fast, just now needs to be pushed to the next level

I am not sure still where we stand. You see in the last two Grand Prix we were 2 tenths faster in Qualifying than Racing Point, half a second than Ferrari. Red Bull was faster by 3 tenths in Austria. In Hungary things changed. Racing Point seemed 2 tenths faster than us while we matched Red Bull and Ferrari were only a tenth slower.

I would say Hungaroring favored their car and not ours. Waiting for Silverstone where we will bring the large upgrade package.

Oddly enough in a track where everyone said power is unimportant so will be equalized, the Mercedes engine cars are dominating and Ferrari powered cars are struggling. The engine gap seems greater than it has been in years, which is really odd for this track
