The built it... May have not designed it, but they built it... Every other team in the grid could have done what Racing Point did, so Kudos to them for outsmarting everyone else... I’m a Mclaren fan and not particularly happy that they jumped us by copying the W10, but if they exploited the rules and got results from it, good for them... All successful teams have exploited the rules and dance very close to the fringes of legality.LM10 wrote:Funniest scene was seeing Racing Point garage going wild over 3rd and 4th - with a car they didn't build.
I'm sorry. I should have written "with a car they didn't design". Of course they built it - by getting some of that "inspiration" before.El Scorchio wrote: ↑18 Jul 2020, 16:10Well they did build it. Just had a bit of ‘inspiration’ in the design.
TBH it’s good. Adding to all the spice behind the Mercedes.
To be honest there is still 2021. So yeah good enough. I GUESS THEY WILL CUT R&D after new year and start totally on 2021.SmallSoldier wrote: ↑18 Jul 2020, 16:13The built it... On the other hand, it also shows how the rest of the teams (RBR and Ferrari) did such a poor job this year, they can’t beat last year’s Mercedes car... Mercedes is probably wonder why they spent hundreds of millions of dollars developing the W11 when they could have showed up this season with the same car and still beat everyone else.

Perez always sets up for the race. He seems to not care too much about beating his teammates in qualy as long as he can start near them.FrukostScones wrote: ↑18 Jul 2020, 16:10STR seems to be quick with quick cars that give him confidence.
PER can't be that bad. Or?
George Russell stated that all of the guys Albon grew up racing with know how quick and good he is. If RedBull drop him, it'll be their loss if he goes elsewhere and finds his mojo again.
Maybe MP4/4 record or 2016 will be broken?yelistener wrote: ↑18 Jul 2020, 16:162020 is actually becoming Mercedes' most dominant season since 2014. There's not a single catalog that they're worse than anyone. 2014-2019 there were areas like certain type of corners, or engine power, but in 2020 there's nothing. Mercedes is the winner in everything.
The engine is English. A bit of German coatings here and there but it is English! The turbochargers are American.
Redbull need to lay off the Max cool-aid and build a car that both drivers can live with. Max alone is not going to get them to beat Mercedes, they need to create that intra team rivalry where both drivers are pushing each other. That is how Mercedes did it, first with Rosberg and Hamilton, than now with Hamilton and Bottas. You get the feeling both guys like the car. Albon does not feel comfortable in the Redbull. That much is clear.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑18 Jul 2020, 16:17George Russell stated that all of the guys Albon grew up racing with know how quick and good he is. The sad part really is that Mercedes now have the biggest opportunity to dominate with the new set of regulations in 2022... They won’t need to invest one minute in the W12 for 2021 and focus 100% on 2022, which will give them an advantage.aleks_ader wrote:To be honest there is still 2021. So yeah good enough.
