Red Bull was faster by 3 tenths in Austria. In Hungary things changed. Racing Point seemed 2 tenths faster than us while we matched Red Bull and Ferrari were only a tenth slower.
We are slower than Racing Point and so far mixing it with Ferrari... You need to understand that Austria is not a representative track to determine the pecking order, nor is it Hungary seems both are a bit on the extremes... In a couple of weeks, after Silverstone, we will have a better understanding... But, it’s clear that Racing Point is quicker, they just had a bad couple of first weekends and getting to understand a package that is extremely “foreign” to them... They are bound to get even faster.

Mercedes compared to Mclaren seem to be I would say 8 tenths faster than Mclaren. Is that by pure Engine or also chassis and anyone knows how much?

I would judge after we see the huge upgrade package that we will bring in Silverstone.

Impossible to say but if I had a guess over a total lap probably 0.2s engine and 0.6s chassis

Why not 0.5 by Engine and 0.1 in chassis? Mercedes hasn't gained much from last year.

I’m judging it on s1/s2/s3 performance between the W11/W10 and MCL35

I don't know where this came from but whilst there's an upgrade package for Silverstone - like usual - it certainly isn't a 'huge' overhaul of the car or anything.

Mercedes gained more lap time in Hungary than Mclaren did year on year... What are you talking about?

If it goes like last year where we started in the midfield 0.2 secs off the pace of the Haas, Racing Point and 0.3 from the Renault but delivered race results and by the first two upgrade packages we were a clear 0.3 second faster than the rest I expect to reach the Pinks rather quickly. They are not that fast as people may think. I would give them at most 0.3 secs faster.

Have in mind the DAS system might give them a considerable amount of time and they wont have that next year.

Not denying that, how much though? That’s anyone guess... But you saying that Mercedes “hasn’t gained much from last year” it’s simply mistaken and they are proving it on track.

Crossing my fingers nothing comes out of that... A grid penalty is the last thing we need in Hungary!

Cross everyone your fingers. We don't need a penalty from the slow teams. We are trying to get step up from last year.

If he gets a penalty and starts P12 can he start on new Mediums?
