I feel you. Trollto Wolff has already said in an interview yesterday that Racing Point will be hard to beat at some tracks. So, that narrative is already doing the spinning.

Would you prefer it if he turned up at every race claiming his team are going to annihilate all the opposition?

You can just be normal about it. "We expect to be competitive."

I think that probably just goes without saying that they will be competitive. And to be fair he is right- it’s never ‘easy’ to beat everyone in F1. Even with the best package, there is a lot that can go wrong over a race weekend or a season. Take Ferrari the last few years. They blew a fair few races they were probably expected to win for various reasons.

Let’s be honest, we were all shocked by the margin from Merc to everyone else in those first few races.

While he undoubtedly gives extremely conservative estimates of relative performance or downplays things at times, you can look at it in a number of ways. What you see as ‘trolling’ I see as more as being respectful to your competitors.

It is not heavy but it is good for racing with intermediate tyres

Mercedes doesn't have a super powerunit if you look at Redbull they lose only a tenth or two on first sector and the rest 1 seconds on the corners.Mercedes will need upward of 100hp to make that difference with pu alone

And max has mentioned multiple times this weekend what he thinks the issue is.

To me this means, they have some aero component on the car that is very sensitive and right on a knifes edge. If I had to guess, they are having issues with the floor not sealing consistently.

So far I have heard many complaining about the way FIA has handled this but no one has provided any viable alternatives. I am happy for mods to move this to a more appropriate thread.

I'd be raising holly hell if something like this ever happened, talk about and anti competition methodology.

It’s going to be really interesting to see what Verstappen is or isn’t able to do from 7th on the grid, if the car is going to be hard to handle.

How do we think he is going to handle the first lap or so? Patience that the race might come to him, or a do or die, nothing to lose attitude that might end up with him losing a wheel or in a barrier quick smart?

Sorry I don't understand? It's just a more precise measurement of what the teams already get from the FIA (better quality GPS data than the public)
