Fairly common in the wet. Go back to Singapore 2017, everyone remembers the carnage and credits that with Lewis going from fifth to first, but watch his onboards, he started in second and would have had a brilliant start even without the carnage.
Lewis did. They had his in car on while he was expressing concern about the engine. Then he shifted to 2nd before cutting away to show the start.
I believe the mods did a lot of work mid-week to get various topics and individuals inline with what is expected.El Scorchio wrote: โ20 Jul 2020, 15:59Also a very clean race weekend on here. Again a nice change!
His engineer should have said do 17s instead of 18.5 he always needs a bit of a kick in the butt when he is behind he will win when he starts in lead but when its catch up he spends 20 laps not gaining enoughEl Scorchio wrote: โ20 Jul 2020, 17:39Bottas just isnโt aggressive or decisive enough when he needs to be. The Verstappens or Hamiltons or Vettels of this world would have scythed through the back markers and made up the time.
Thatโs the difference between a very good driver and a top driver.
He is a stark contrast to Lewis. I didn't hear valtteri say anything over the radio, last year with almost the same gap and number of laps remaining Lewis was second guessing the strategy before even got out of the pits.maxxer wrote: โ20 Jul 2020, 20:50His engineer should have said do 17s instead of 18.5 he always needs a bit of a kick in the butt when he is behind he will win when he starts in lead but when its catch up he spends 20 laps not gaining enoughEl Scorchio wrote: โ20 Jul 2020, 17:39Bottas just isnโt aggressive or decisive enough when he needs to be. His target was good it was that he ran out of steam when he got within 6 seconds or so. Maybe he burnt out his tyres or lost concentration or something.maxxer wrote: โ20 Jul 2020, 20:50His engineer should have said do 17s instead of 18.5 he always needs a bit of a kick in the butt when he is behind he will win when he starts in lead but when its catch up he spends 20 laps not gaining enoughEl Scorchio wrote: โ20 Jul 2020, 17:39Bottas just isnโt aggressive or decisive enough when he needs to be. I think it would have been extremelly unfair to punish Bottas. Common sense should always be applied, jump start detection is mean to avoid any driver taking advantage of a jump start, but going from 2nd to 6th none can argue he got any advantage
