We had to eat a piece of humble pie, as the team needed as well.PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑23 Jul 2020, 16:52Funny how times change. McLaren supporters used to look forward to a win every race. Then, Ron and Whitmarsh regularly boasted of the team's winning average. Win or Bust. Now.. hearing people happy with P4 and P5 just seems sooo un-McLaren like...SmallSoldier wrote: ↑04 Jul 2020, 08:21Guess that it depends on your definition of “Good Car”?diffuser wrote:
Top early to say if is a good car or not. One can be hopefully.
The MCL34 was a good car, P4 in the WCC was proof of that... The MCL35 is an step forward compared to the MCL34 and so far it doesn’t seem to have any major problems/weaknesses to address.
For me at least, a good car is one that will allow Mclaren to fight for P4-P5 in the WCC, with this year’s and next cars been based on the same regulations as the MCL34 and the gap to the top 3 last year, I have no expectations of fighting at the top... The MCL35 seems to be capable of been in that fight

They never managed to find anything from Ferrari's data on the car despite checking all of the car . The whole trial was a parody since they pretty much sentenced a team without proof. Then Hamilton came under psychological attack all of a sudden inside and outside of F1 after Mclaren was stripped of the championship. Then we had the scandal of the last race having Two Williams and Two Sauber Cars with Illegal Petrol Temperature giving them a positive handicap in their defence against Hamilton and the FIA completely covered it up. Then of course we had Renault getting accused for the same Spygate but the FIA covered it also up.Macklaren wrote: ↑23 Jul 2020, 17:05PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑23 Jul 2020, 16:52

I don't see how this is a surprise given how much has changed with McL and F1 in the last 15 years starting with the fake Spygate scandal which successfully broke McLaren. I believe this is also why true McLaren fans love the team/company/brand. Its not just about supporting a winning brand when it is winning but the fact that a relatively small organization can fall from dominance to the very bottom and then rebuild back to the top against much larger competitors is very inspiring to watch.
Mclaren and Mercedes were damaged beyond repair that year from the 100 Million and it's something that destroyed the whole organisation making Mercedes leave with the whole personnel of Mclaren and Hamilton and making their own team. We are still recovering from that. Meanwhile Ferrari the epitome of scandal as a team is getting covered from when I remember seeing F1 from 1988. I remember the 1990 FIA trying to make Prost with Ferrari champion by any means nessesary, the Schumacher-Barrichelo/Irvine/2nd Driver orders to change positions, The Malaysia 1999 with Illegal Ferraris, the 2007 Spygate Set Up, the 2008 trying to make Massa Champion by any means nessesary, the 2008 Spa FIA Disgraceful Decision, Mika Hakkinnen getting lots of penalties in 2000, The whole scandal in Indianapolis in 2005 with the FIA banning Michelin and the Michelin teams paying the price next year.
I agree. For everyone saying win or bust 1998 was the last constructors... 2nd a few times 2008, 2010 and 2011 etc. but it has been too long since we were at the top of the pecking order. 3rd is a realistic target next year.genarro wrote:New partnership with Gulf is very very very good news. There's an energy around this team that just makes them so lovable. They are definetly on the rise and people and other companies are again starting to believe in The McLaren F1 project and want to join this story. Everyone loves a Phoenix from the ashes rise..anyway keep on the good work chaps
I really do not recall that, and I must have seen it liveMtthsMlw wrote: ↑23 Jul 2020, 23:49Some time agoBig Tea wrote: ↑23 Jul 2020, 23:03Was this ever on the F1 car?muz wrote: ↑23 Jul 2020, 23:01Really????https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202007 ... b30acb.jpg
