Seems like nearly the entire budget goes into tweaking that front wing. 80% of their "upgrades" this year have been limited to that

I agree with that view, but the thing is the Styrian wing wasn't a "full upgrade", Ferrari still used the pre-season wing on many races.
For the most part the Styrian wing matched with the low downforce package while the pre season version matched with the high downforce one.
In many ways this new wing combines characteristics of the Styrian wing with the pre-season one.

I'd say the reason why the comparison only includes Pre-season vs Sochi version is, that's what Ferrari was doing on friday at Sochi, they were going back and forth between those 2 models with their 2 drivers, the Styrian wing wasn't present.

I think that the turning vanes are more longer and closer to the cape or maybe both.

Obviously it’s FAR more complicated than just sticking a thinner nose on car like this Ferrari and expecting gains - and in and of itself it’s probably not necessarily ’better’ (it’s to do with the entire concept) - but one thing you would think from eyeball CFD is that it’d be lower drag. I wonder if this is another case where Ferrari designed the car around some ‘dirty’ downforce (the wide nose itself will create some) and then got stuck with an underpowered car that can’t compensate > they’re unable to change to a lower drag concept without a much greater chassis redesign?

Making the cars' nose thinner in on itself is a very big task to do, and that is without considering the front and rear aero correlation. So I doubt it would happen this season or the next.
Also, cars with the 'in-board' loaded front wings (Ferrari, haas, Alfa) actually benefit from a wider nose since it generates more downforce at higher speeds, downforce that they cant generate from the front wings alone. The only problem here is that at slow speed this nose is prone to stall. And a thin nose looks cooler.

Upgraded "floor teeth" and minor changes to the vertical part of the two boomerrangs where they attach to the sidepod deflector.

What is the scope of that metallic part which resembles an handle?
It seems extremely crude. Isn't it?

It is a bracket to hold the vanes.

It looks OK to me. It has to be rigid but thin for to hold the vane steady and not to obstruct air flow too much.

It links two parts together to stop them vibrating/deflecting. Knowing F1, it'll be made from some rare and exotic metal that is only found in meteorites. :lol:
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Good spot, there's a slight curve at the edge of the bargeboard where the pink line is.
Saishū kōnā
