Bottas would be very motivated to finish in front of the second Mercedes car, perhaps more so than anyone else on the grid. But even then, P2+P3 is worth less than P1+P4. It just doesn't matter who is in the second seat at Mercedes and Red Bull. Might as well save a chunk of money and focus on 2022.

What a mess! Do you suppose the problem is Red Bull being too cheap to pay for F2 seats despite token sponsorship of the Carlin team?NathanOlder wrote: ↑01 Nov 2020, 18:08Maybe the RedBull junior program is just not that good. They have no one on the up, and they only managed to get Max in front of Mercedes because they offered Max a quick route to F1.

I believe Jake Dennis has done sim work. And Sergio Sette Camera is a test driver and Buemi is the reserve driver as Dennis and Camera dont hold a licence for F1.Big Tea wrote: ↑01 Nov 2020, 22:30I would love to see Red Bull bring Hulk in for the next race, Say Albon is unwell or something, we could have a much better idea of how reality fits our thoughts them, and so would Red Bull.
Maybe they have already tried another driver and decided it was no improvement?
Who is their sim driver BTW anyone know?

Thanks. I was wondering if any were able to give feedback that supported it not being worth switching Albon out.NathanOlder wrote: ↑01 Nov 2020, 22:37I believe Jake Dennis has done sim work. He is in the best team in history. If I were him, I would stay. If Aryton Senna was in the other seat kicking my butt every race and me playing number 2, I would still stay. Stay till the day the team asks me to leave. You see, I may be remembered as a number 2, but at least I will be remembered when the great names are mentioned.

Wt the same time, there is the counterpoint that these guys are mega competitive. Every time Lewis beats Bottas, it will be eating him up insidePlatinumZealot wrote: ↑02 Nov 2020, 04:12He is in the best team in history. If I were him, I would stay. Stewart and Cervert
Michael and Rubens
Prost and Arnoux
Senna and Berger
Lewis and Bottas
Vettel and Webber
Etc.
That wouldn’t be very fair to Hulk... Bringing him for one weekend? He will definitely need more time than that to get into a rhythm... In addition to having to understand the car, how to maximize it and get familiar with the team... And beyond all of that, he would be measure against Max...Big Tea wrote:I would love to see Red Bull bring Hulk in for the next race, Say Albon is unwell or something, we could have a much better idea of how reality fits our thoughts them, and so would Red Bull.
