Dual/Twin Liverys In F1

Post

I got the current edition of Sports Pro Magazine (Link: http://www.sportsprodailydeal.com/annou ... e_out_now/) and was reminded of the 1999 BAR liverys were suposed to have. The team that gave us this "hybrid" livery that appaled more or less everyone:

In this current state of affairs of getting money into F1, would it be wise for the FIA to suspend the rule on same liverys on a team. I think it could be a solution to the Honda situation if what reports are saying on Virgin ar not true or dont come thrugh.

Whats your answer???

IIRC there are no rules forbidding different sponsors on different cars... the liveries just have to "look substantially similar". See Coulthard's retirement car for example. It has different decals to Mark Webber's, but there's no mistaking the car for anything but a RB.

That BAR is the worst looking F1-car ever raced, period. What WERE they thinking?!

(Yes, I know the story behind it, but jeez!)

Really? I think it's one of the best color-schemes I ever saw, that pink stripe on Jaques helmet makes it perfect.

I think it's time to bring tobacco sponsorship back to F1!

If you scrap all the European events, that should be feasible I guess?

And scrap the North American events as tobacco is also not allowed here..... oh wait. That 'problem' was already solved.

I'm curious what Virgin will do for their livery should they purchase Honda, and what USF1's livery will be like. JV's old BAR is hideous by the way...
Best regards. I guess this explains why I'm not at my post!

I liked the BAR livery.

RBR had special consideration from all teams to run that different livery.

Substantially similar only allows for tiny differences such as the cameras, drivers names, car numbers etc.

Virgin would have red and black. USF1 would have the good ol' red, white, and blue  .

I would be cool to see the traditional racing colors again. Like these:

I'd love to see that Carolina team, if we will ever see it, in Jack Daniel's or Budweiser livery. Perhaps dual, like the BAR above, think about it.

I don't think mixing those would send the right message to the fans lol

I like the tidiness F1 has got and Indy has not. In Indy you never know wich teams run 1, 2 or 3 cars or who is the team mate of who. Sometimes you even had teams that did not race all races of the season.

Also, that is probably the only thing I like about TC2000, Argentine stock car serie: tidiness, wich laks in a way better rival serie called TC :D
