Am I correct in believing Alonso can drive a 2 year old car as much as he wants?
They could probably get it to feel similar to this years car (or next years) and let him thrash around in it as he wants. I'm sure they could offset the coast to training and customer goodies.
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

if F1 agree with Freeze in engine and power unit as requested by RB, will Renault bring their 2022 engine and power unit in 2021 itself? how this can be handled by Renault? will Mercedes win till 2026 rule change? then it will be very boring to watch and does not make any sense for Alonso to come back to F1.

today Renault also confirmed to go with freeze if FIA prepone 2026 rule change . I don't believe it! if they have freeze, then we will see same line up and Mercedes can win another 4 wdc and wcc. will make the race boring.

Do you really still consider Mercedes advantage is just/mainly the PU? #-o

Yes 100% I believe that. otherwise why they(Mercedes) agree with freeze.

I 100% disagree with that. Otherwise, why Renault agree with the freeze?

Mercedes still has an edge on PU department, but assuming that´s their main advantage looks almost vintage

How do you explain RP jump in perfomance the same season they´ve get past season Mercedes chasis? They were using their PU since the beginning of this ruleset, and their perfomance was quite poor

I wonder at what point the 2019 car becomes the 2 year old car? Cause that car is really close to the 2020 Renault.

Rule changes like allowing teams to carry more fuel(less fuel saving) and reduction of PU modes have marginalized the advantage of Merc PU over previous years, Yet RP pace, still, has taken a significant jump.

@Andres125sx Sorry, just wanted to reenforce what you were saying

Was there not talk of allowing 'outlaying' engines to catch up? There must surely be something here that attracts builders other than Mercedes.
They would not agree to a 3 year advantage to someone else, so obviously think they will gain from it.

What is in the back of my mind is that Mercedes never seem to show the full extent of what they have, so there cold be some long faces in the padlock

not a good performance by Ric. change him with Alonso to get familiar with 2020 car and can help in developing 2022 car.

It seems Ric is suffering on bring the Tyre to operational temperature. at the second start he lost the places. I did not except this from him. Some time he seems to be average driver.

Better replace with Alonso and Renault not going to lose much.
