If building a better car doesn’t give you the win, or worse, you only won because the better car had more restrictions, why compete? The whole point of sport is to find out who is better at something. They don’t let usain bolt run 120 m while the rest only have to do 90...
Isn't that the point of things like BOP? To nullify hard work to keep the racing interesting?Jolle wrote: ↑05 Jan 2021, 03:10If building a better car doesn’t give you the win, or worse, you only won because the better car had more restrictions, why compete? It makes it entertainment instead of a sport. BOP can be usefull to race with different production cars (for instance a 2l fwd vs 2.6l rwd) but the whole point of having a formula is that there is no BOP. You win by constructing the best car within the formula.hUirEYExbN wrote: ↑05 Jan 2021, 12:37Isn't that the point of things like BOP? In case of endurance racing it is about the car not breaking down and the driver not --- up. Bop is acceptable there.Jolle wrote: ↑05 Jan 2021, 03:10If building a better car doesn’t give you the win, or worse, you only won because the better car had more restrictions, why compete? Isn't jet fuel just super-grade diesel?
I think the criticism in the first couple comments ring hollow.dave kumar wrote: ↑15 Oct 2020, 23:02What would happen if the formula specified a limit for the power that a PU could deliver rather than a fuel flow limit for engine?
