Random thought, one of the reasons INEOS came on board as a shareholder.

With the incoming budget cap, the F1 work in Brackley has to be scaled down and will loose some flexibility. Could INEOS with its other high tech projects like the americas cup and the cycling team bring in additional work to diversify enough to keep staff and keep the company flexible enough? Bit like McLaren used to has their applied engineering division. “INEOS applied” or something.

There is already the Mercedes Applied Science division at Brackley for exactly these kind of things.
Similar to Red Bull Advanced Technologies (e.g. Valkyrie, Indycar Aeroscreen,...).

Looking at in how much trouble the Brittania is having staying on the foils, I would say... that a nice project 😂

What if~ ineos wanted something developed because they were studying a F1 car? That would not count against merc then as it is 'pure research' for a customer
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

Well... they are not a customer anymore... Ferrari can get away with that stuff with HAAS 😉

Does Ineos have an share in Brixworth with their aquisition? Or is HPP solely owned by Daimler?

HPP is a separate company fully owned by Mercedes UK, which is part of Daimler AG

Do you have a source for this? It's be quite the coup for Aston Martin, and surely a noticeable loss for Merc?

Is there a problem with Hamilton’s 2021 contract, or are they just ironing out the final details?
Watching F1 since 1986.

Lots of rumors floating around that Daimler is blocking the amount Lewis wants, and is saying they can go for Russell instead. Ineos on the other hand reportedly wants Lewis in no matter what, while Toto is denying any negotiation troubles.

I'm curious where this is going though. This negotiation is taking longer than I would expect it should.

Another possibility is that, what both parties said, we are going to continue with each other is true (they are both not known for games on this front) and after a very very long season, where everybody was just tired at the end, they will sit down before the first test to iron out the small details.

Yeah speculation is rife on this one. It would be a bombshell though if Sir Lewis gets dropped for Russell though...
