something strange...

Post

result of Valencia test has DC close to a track record held last year... 1:09.175.. (record was set by jungle boy last year in a last years car, 1:09.161)...

having said this, shouldnt this years spec car be lot slower than last years? i mean, what is the point of changing all the regulations to slow the car down and wind up having a car that is just as fast as last years?

just a thought.

Coulthard's in last year's Jaguar. Probably on new tyres, low fuel and ballast to gain them a bit of publicity. Anyway, testing is usually about setting strings of consistant lap times so the engineers can collect reliable data rather than going for an all out flyer.

RedBull setting fast(est) times is indeed strange. Did they make a quantum leap in pace by changing tires? I may be wrong, but I don't think so. Are the RedBull folks firing a slavo and saying - screaming - look at us, where here to compete! Perhaps. Let's hope their pace is real, and that they're not running drastically underweight simply for PR.
