That is the first awful looking Mercedes livery since the hybrid era began. Actually, it's the worst of the lot since their return.

I seem to like whatever little I see of Bottas' new lid.

All through 2010-2012 they had a bit of an awkward black/silver fade on their engine cover, which looked worse that this one (esp. since the front looks great), so for me this one is not the worst, though I too don't welcome the fade-out return!

Yeah I don't like this at all, although it is a step up from the original livery from last year - that was awful.

I personally wish they would go back to pure silver, like pre-2016 before they started to try and introduce black into it. Especially when they went through a stage around the W03-W05 of making it quite reflective.

I quite like it personally; modern and sharp. It’s the bigger AMG branding that lacks sophistication IMO.

Either way, the drivers look trim and ready.

First instinct was that I didn't like it, but it is already starting to grow on me, so who knows. It might be my favourite by next week

It's very tacky, and what did they do about the Niki Lauda red star? Given that AMG[-line] models have now adopted a multi-star grille, it seems very odd to simultaneously abandon that motif on the Formula One car

I can't say I like the livery changes -- the white Petronas text on the fluorescent teal background is illegible!?




Edit - Maybe the "fluorescent" teal is just an anomaly with the studio pictures, sorry, renders. The video seems to show the same shade of teal as before.

Exactly what I thought.

Mercedes pushing the boundaries once again. If they don't run into any crazy reliability issues (which Honda are more likely to tbf), then it's gg for RB and the Championship.

On to 2022 I guess. Congrats to Hamilton on his 8th title and Merc on another deserved WCC! (not srs)... Actually kinda srs.

At least we'll have a promising midfield battle.

Definitely looks like "the board" believes the AMG brand isn't getting enough association with the F1 team.

And i think they are right, never seen anyone using "AMG-Mercedes" in conversation.
I wonder if they'll stop there or if maybe the "AMG powertrain" is in our future.

The engine cover section is horrendous. If you put your thumb or something over that part of the car, the rest looks wonderful.
