Very interesting. If I had to guess, Mercedes spent tokens on the rear end. But what did they do?

Interesting how the boomerangs on the bargeboard are in line with the swept up wing that joins the side impact crash winglet by the sidepod undercut. They had the same feature last year.



You can also catch how high the leading edge of the floor has gotten.

In the photo with Bottas and the car on the background it seems the Petronas adhesive is way more vertical...

Like RB, the hot air exits have been pulld inward and especially upward to clear the way towards the diffuser as much as possible.
The suspensions look similar to 2020... but the diffuser kick up point looks strange

Pretty sure it was confirmed last year that Mercedes would NOT have to spent tokens to get rid of DAS. So if they did end up spending tokens at the front of the car, it's likely for something else.

Mercedes already introduce a very similar design as part of an upgrade last year.

Yes, at first glance that is the case, now the new packaging of the PU looks more central/vertical but please have in mind that Mclaren has a chassis made for Renault PU and small changes were allowed where the PU and the gearbox could not fit physically so its only natural that Mercedes will have the best packaged rear end of all.

Why? They ran with both DAS and non-DAS racks last year so the non-DAS rack will just be carried over. No need to use tokens.

I do not believe the nose in the rendering Vs the live pictures is the same. Actual nose is much slimmer in profile and the cape looks massive.

I guess they might only shown us old chassis with new livery and some tiny change. The structure and suspension geometry seems unchanged, that means no token has been used. We might have to wait until the test to see the real W12.

By removing DAS it allows one to reposition the steering rack and modify the monocoque for aero reasons.
