McLaren Racing has become the first Formula One team to unveil their 2021 contender at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, UK. Named the MCL35M to underline the team's return to Mercedes power.
A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.
Do you by any chance know whether this is from the Tuesday or Thursday filming day?
No idea... Sorry...
OK, thanks. I know I’m probably reaching, but I just get the impression the team were less willing to show up close footage of the car on Thursday. So I’m thinking they had more bells and whistles attached, even the unboxed episode ended with the team photo on Tuesday evening, nothing from Thursday. Like I said, probably reaching...
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

My picture shows a clear indentation / lowering of that area... Guess we'll have to wait for testing...
I think that is a shadow from the halo, nothing else.
I didn't think of that... You're most probably right... I might be looking for too many "special things" on the car...
I think you’re on to something with the side pod. I remember @f1rules pointed something out back in the speculation thread. I don’t know if it’s the same thing. but like you said, we’ll know by testing.

From the W12 photos of the engine cover you can actually see how much Mclaren left out on the table due to the token development limitations implemented by FIA, but still I thnik the 35M looks decent and should get out the best of that PU.

I'd love some comparison photos. I find it hard to gauge these things by eyeballing.
We have 24 pages of MCL35M thread, other teams need to catch up!
I am still baffled by the size of that Airbox in the Alpine though. It really seems excessively large (and that's even considering Renault has had pretty big airboxes these last couple of years)
