Red Bull RB16B

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Is it just me or is the car really like half a meter off the ground at the rear? Even more-so that usual.

Let's hope it will be as planted during the day as it was during the first 'fast' lap on white stripes.....

With less floor allowed it is probably just an optical thing. You can see more ground under the car and that makes it look like it is higher.

Red Bull still avoiding outwash FWs like the plague, now they even rise instead of diping closer to the endplates.

Are my eyes deceiving me or is Red Bull running a very simple version of the diffuser? I barely see any strakes in the diffuser compared to for instance Alpha Tauri.

really surprised rb gave up on their narrow frontwing pylons, ala merc and the others, and instead sticked to the wider one, they tested both last year

But last year they used the narrow pilon-rounded nose and then had to back off again, maybe it still doesn't quite work (or really doesn't bring what they need, one of the things they said 'had we known what we know now at the start of the season, we would have been much faster from the go')

I call fake!

Looks quite odd at least.
But just suppose it weren't hypothetical.

Single wastegate on an inverted layout compared to Ferrari.
