Was that someone shaving a tire with the aid of a hot air blower?
Can they do that on races as well? Or between qualifying and race?
I didn’t see this, but this is commonly done to remove buildup to look at the tire. You see these in a lot of pro and high level amateur series, especially ones that are supported by tire manufacturers.

That was a Pirelli employee, likely analyzing tire degradation or something. I'm sure teams are not allowed to do that.
Its simply how you check for wear on a slick tyre. You scrape off the pick up to find the little wear dot indicators

Basically saying that Alfa is just as fast Ferrari and that Ferrari should be worried.

The facts don’t add up.

These guys get paid to stir the pot so they have something to write about for the next two weeks.

F1 is really just a real life version of ‘The Real Housewives’, and the drama sells, manufactured or not. The teams and drivers stir the pot all the time as well. If they didn’t, the media would have a lot less to write about.

Exactly. A torch and scraper knife work perfect for this.

It appears that high rake cars can work much better with the new mandatory floor shape regulation.

In which case the FIA/Liberty's desire to slow down Mercedes has been successful. A bit like back in 2005 when the tyre rules were changed to slow down Ferrari. And Alonso took the title.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

I've only heard that said with confidence by professional idiots (several of the sky commentators). I laughed at the comparison shot they showed on TV which differed in ride height as much as it did in rake lol.

I think we have to wait and see.

I think I’m going to reserve my judgement until they get a few actual races in, on different surfaces, and different conditions.

I think a lot of you just parrot whatever the announcers are claiming. They have no more idea than anyone else.

I think a lot of us don't take testing times very seriously and are just chewing the fat...

They are junk.

God what are they talking. Giggle Giggle...

Only Karun has some sense (and a calming voice) and Davidson maybe.
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.
