Alpine A521

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Did they ditch their usual CCS layout and relocated it behind? It nowhere to be seen :?: (where it used to be, red arrow on RS.20...)

It’s either behind those carbon ducts, or they have split the main CCS rad in half and that’s where the ducts lead.

Still confuses me how they have such a thick radiator in the side pod compared to other teams.

Yes.
If it's still behind them, in its usual location, then it became much smaller/tighter...

There is a guy who claims sinc weeks that they now have a split turbo and that they have a raised intake plenum, with visible cylinder intake ducts (similar to Honda in 2015-2016) to accommodate it. https://i.imgur.com/GQwjvXD.jpeg

So I updated the albrodpulf1 drawing https://i.imgur.com/ubuDIrO.jpeg

But I dunno if he's reliable, so take this with a pinch of salt

Splitted turbo PU is off the table. Alpine said that they just upgraded the parts that didn't need homologation.

I’m pretty sure that’s exactly how it is.

The intercoolers are stacked on top of the main radiators.

They look like bizarre and pointless changes, if Scarbs theory is true. these changes could hide something else.
They added 69 more coolers to the center of the car to slim down the sidepods? the slimming looks extremely limited and these sidepods look as slim as the RS.19. Moreover the sidepod cooling also look very similar to before, regarding layout, size and shapes...
