Any good angles of the sidepods to see if they are actually smaller than other teams?

You mean Design ? I think it makes sence to introduce the front compressor PU, if they really do plan to, this year to be better prepared for next.

Hard speculation: Could it be a twin venturi cooling? Primary flow through the sidepods, mainly for aerodinamical reasons (blowing over the diffuser) and "nozzle ducts" blowing from roll hoop to sidepod ducts, through radiators.

If I understand Scarbs correctly, they replace the good old Renault compressor airbox (the lighter green here)

So they feed the darker green compressor disc-shaped airbox (which didnt change much between 2014 and 2020), or the compressor directly, from two sides, similar to the 2016 Ferrari?

This could also explain why these odd looking ducts seem to have an air filter enclosure (purple rectangle)

Right but why did they put the lower air intake's rad so far out?

Seems like a B-team, budget, unimaginative move.

I had heard that they had been living with cooling issues last year that they needed tokens to fix. Is this what they spent their tokens on?

That's one of the questions.

Cooling dont need tokens (unless you use special coolers like water-oil or water-water rads, But Renault do not use that kind of rads AFAIK) So teams can change 90% or 100% of their cooling for free.
And as already said they spent their tokens on the gearbox casing, at least to change the suspension mounting points.

But I never heard them saying they had cooling issues... However it could explain why they added 1001 more coolers to the car and relocated their old CCS (if Scarbs is right), with very minimal sidepod/undercut gains.

A bit off topic, but are these cost cutting measures? Making these things out of (i assume)detacheable aluminum, rather than integrated carbon.

Saving money on details might be a good thing in the new era.
