I was wondering why it looked good initially and then just dropped off a cliff. The debris in the brakes actually makes sense because seeing various cars just steaming passed Alonso in the braking zones was odd when he was comfortably holding his own and attacking the McLarens half a dozen laps earlier.
They have, you could argue that they never switched to 2021... There is always gonna be some people on 2021 this early on, you just don't have any manufacturing for 2022 at this point, not like you have wings to make and stuff. The PU guy have been flat out on 2022 for some time now.
If I remember correctly he had some kind of issue with the car in P3/Qualy . Alonso complained about something related to break or something. It is told by F1 track side commentators in Live Stream. I think the car had an issue before starting this weekend or race. He also mentioned the car is different to drive compared to Test and now. Alpine need to answer it.RedNEO wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 19:04I was wondering why it looked good initially and then just dropped off a cliff. Remember Alonso didn't want Alpine to work on 2021. So they are in agreement.selvam_e2002 wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 19:02no words to say.... really worst car of the year. Thanks Alpine providing such a car to Alonso!
There is no point in wasting time in this year. Just concentrate next year car otherwise you will end up with same for 2022......
Perfect! That's why I am worried about it. It is not easy task to cover 1.2 second defeat in Qualy and poor race speed in single year. They Alpine need to react fast else same for 2022 till 2025 for new rule change.RedNEO wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 19:13But looking at Ocon despite several safety cars he still wasn’t able to come close to the top 10 which shows the car doesn’t deserve to be in the top 10 anyway and thanks to other drivers underperforming and Alonso’s brilliance it ended up in there. Lots of work to do.
People saying “just throw away this year and focus on next year” ... it’s not that simple. They also need to understand why they are slow so they don’t make the same mistake again next year.
Don't have to, Completely different regulation next year. Everyone is starting at Zero. Only carry over is the PU.selvam_e2002 wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 19:17Perfect! That's why I am worried about it. Yeah I also think they need to work on there quality control because Alonso saying the car felt different to testing probably means he is using the chassis that wasn’t used in testing and they haven’t been able to produce it at the same quality as that one if it’s having all these problems with brakes from day one ectselvam_e2002 wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 19:17Perfect! They said the floor change this year was a bigger change than they were expecting and it caught them out. Next year most of the development is going to be around the floors again so they better make sure they can get on top of this one with there correlation or they could be developing into a black hole.diffuser wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 19:22Don't have to, Completely different regulation next year.
