hey guys.. always been wondering the acceleration of an f1 car.. been searching the web but i cannot find any information. Would like any information. ALSO how long till top speed
Location: Covilhã, Portugal (and sometimes in Évora)

Based on Bmw Williams F1 telemetry:
0 -> 62mph : 2.093s
0 -> 212.5 mph : 12,741s
Conversion from km/h to mph: 1.6
though those numbers are based on the Williams telemetry this test was made on a drag stip in 2002.....but lets also not forget that the aceleration also depends on a number of factores:
- traction
- gear ratios
- throtle position.
So the info I have I don't know in which conditions it was registered....
I have read an article in a magazine (car&driver i believe) that tested out the second generation Jaguar F1 car. It was a bit slower than what the Williams(0-60 in 2.6 I recall) yet its top speed was something like 230. The car probably was in a high speed setup.
A Ferrari does 0-60 in 1.8 seconds, who oever said 2.7 is wrong martin hadlands, reyland escort cossie does it in 2.8, look it up on google! and f1 cars are slightly faster even thought the engine is alot smaller!!
f2004ga did o-60mph(not 62) in 1.8 sec against the euro fighter drag....so i think thats the max it can do as the car then would have been tuned for accelrtn..wat say mates?

According to the data I have the time of the F2003Ga on the 0-100 km/h was 2.7 seconds.
