Yeah I agree, Russell was trying to be helpful at the same time not lose too much time (something they all do) but where it happened was just unfortunate. If he did it at Tamburello or Villeneuve or even Variante Alta, then Lewis just goes across the chicane and loses a small amount of time. It was just a big chain of unfortunate events. In the end it only cost Lewis a shot at the win. If Lewis had made it past George on that lap, then George wouldn't have been attempting a pass on Bottas 60 seconds later. So the whole thing cost George, Bottas and Lewis. Shame as I wanted to see how aggressive Lewis would be with Max.Spacepace wrote: ↑01 May 2021, 06:03This!!! I have been thinking this since it happened. I tried to be neutral on the matter and look at it both ways but what I believed happened from the start was that Russell was trying to follow blue flags and at the same time gain an advantage with Bottas ahead. I have a hunch that this is what Wolff believed too and the reason he was so pissed off for.NathanOlder wrote: ↑30 Apr 2021, 22:56But slowing quite a bit on the dry line forces the car behind on to the wet. And George lifted a lot to let Lewis through.
