This 'qualifying pace' graphic is utterly pointless to display in practice. There's no way Verstappen is going to be 0.47 down on pole and Perez 0.94. It's data for the sake of it, and it's just inaccurate.

Alpine looking much better on one-lap pace, but as Alonso confirmed over the radio, you can visually see the car looks loose.

Looking for Mclaren to make a step forward tomorrow.

Stable rules are nice though, aren’t they? (In terms of grid spread).

Whats happening with the Red Bull's on the soft? Struggling to get them into the window?
Not sure, but on his hot lap he really overcooked turn 10.

Absolutely, but it’s entertainment. People eat it up.

True. Some do eat it up unfortunately but it is telling a false story.

The RB’s being clustered in times in the mid pack shows they have some work to do. Qualifying will matter here.

It builds excitement in the uninitiated / new / temporary fans. It creates a narrative - oh look, the team / driver has found a whole load of pace since the practice session. It's all part of "the show".

VER's race pace at the end was very impressive. He was doing low-23s/high-22s which Merc wasn't able to achieve on similarly aged softs.

And on his sole lap on mediums, VER matched HAM's best lap on mediums. VER started off slow but was very much there at the end.

Race pace on softs is pointless surely, as the race wont involve softs for the top 2 teams surely ?

Poor Max is forced to drive absolutely on the limit to match Mercs. Unfortunately, season is done. Another boring Hamilton's fightning with no one is coming...

Hamilton driving very well here. I think if he takes pole that will be 7 years in a row to match Senna's record?
