I want to think that Mclaren left plenty on the table during practice, hard to imagine that they would be so far behind the midfield in S3, barely faster than Williams and Haas in that sector shouldn’t be actual performance:

Looks like they are carrying more fuel. That extra weight would be amplified carrying it through those slow corners. Watching the cars through that sector nothing looked off to me about how they were driving through there. I honestly feel after FP1, they dialled the engine down and are probably carrying about 8-10 kg more fuel than some others.

New rear break winglets (As correctly called by PhilipM before any pictures became available), new barge board, floor and front wing.

What looks really interesting is Mclarens take on the z cut, which isn't a z cut, but a vortex inducing chicken wing that seems to protude.

Front wing could help in S3 but is unlikely to be the solution.

But now I'm excited.
New bargeboard? Any links or pictures?

Just thinking about the larger front wing, and how Mercedes are often not leading the speed traps (Or sometimes not even near the top), despite having often the fastest car.

Hopefully we feel the car has the outright speed to now to carry a little more drag, on the basis that cornering speeds can be better and the exit onto a straight will be carrying more speed, so even if the top speed is hindered a little, there is only a portion of the straight where that is going to affect us, overall, hopefully it is a quicker package.

That was an interesting article as well, that Eddy posted (Thanks Eddy), because it would not have occurred to me that it could widen the tolerance for stalling, if indeed it does.
But even if it does, that stalling due to the wing being so close to the ground is not going to improve low speed corner grip, as the wing will not be pushed own quite as much in those corners.
So it feels like it will help medium to high speed corners more than low.

But I wonder also, if the subtle alteration to the loading on the wing (Not where the loading is, but how much) might strengthen the Y250 vortices.

Just found it odd that all the other names are spot on, down to the ' on Pérez, but Yuki's name is completely different.

Back to the McLarens though, yes, let's hope the trend continues and they show significantly more pace on Saturday.

Yeah he's spelled it in a way that works phonetically for him, I think.

The lol was at his spelling, not your question, if that's what you thought.

He's done it throughout his visuals so it is obviously something that has stuck with him or that is just that they interpret Japanase names diferently. Anyways, I'm just waffling now.
