P3 is done, P1 with .3 to spare say it ain't so. Surely Mercedes is miles ahead the Hamilton fans said so.
Where is the 2nd Redbull. U keep saying Redbull is fastest car. Only Max is quick but he will probably make a mistake and give Merc pole position.

Best 3 drivers on the grid occupy the top 3 spots in FP3. Wonder if it will be the same in Q3

I shall love to debate the 8th title at the end of the year, if it happens, solely with you. ;)
You mean 5th for RB and Honda.

Bottas being split by Ferraris and a McLaren would be the Icing on the cake, since Perez is having difficulty with one lap pace.
VER turned the wick up getting up to 317kph down the straight whilst HAM only achieved 313kph.

Also, both of HAM's best laps in P3 came on the second lap on his runs. Lots of time left to find...

Max lost 0.2 on last corner. Looks good but... will it be enough?

Loving the war of the practice times here  I’m just gonna throw Kimis purple S1 time in the mix, to further confirm that we will know the true pace after Q3 is done

Either way, historic in both cases, however i will hold up to this. I shall be here for the debate in both cases.

Maybe he got a better launch off the last turn.

VER also got up to 307kph down the back straight, so I do think they've turned the wick up versus FP1 and FP2.

That said, RB reverted to the spoon RW, so perhaps the increased top speed have also to do with it...

Spoon RW makes more downforce. Because of how it interacts with the endplates.

Looks incredibly close heading into qualifying. Looking at the fastest laps, despite Max going fastest, I'd say Mercedes has a bit more pace they can unleash. They didn't seem to improve much on their 2nd runs, and looked a bit more scruffy compared to Max (who in turn, also didn't have the cleanest of laps on his final run)... though I think there is more room for improvement for Mercedes than Red Bull at this stage.

I think the fight for P3 will be close... Ferrari definitely looks impressive and both drivers getting a lot out of the car, but Norris was on quite a solid lap before the car decided to yeet itself into the gravel of Turn 10... no doubt he'll be in the fight for that battle. Kimi up solidly in the Top 10 was very surprising... doubt we'll see that result come to fruition for Qualifying, but worth a mention regardless.

Max is on the ragged edge here wringing the neck purple!
Good effort though, Maxie. I saw the fist pump right after he nailed that lap. Means its was a "one shot" affair. Surprised if he can replicate that.

Mercedes boys are more comfortable in achieving the lap time.

The redBull looks to have more grip in the last sector so they have corrected something since P2 even in the hands of Perez it looks quite grippy. No longer understeering. Not sure what really was holding it back from getting consitently good laps.. Maybe sensitivty to tyre deg? Anyway.. I am putting Mercedes on Pole with Max only standing a chance if he can absolutely NAIL every corner.

Interesting. I was under the impression that it was less draggy... thanks for the info!

To further add some nuance, Hamilton's best time was set on used softs, whereas Verstappen's was on spanking new ones.

100% Merc pole this. ( watch this being quoted in two hours or so and me looking like a clown )
