Some like him, many loathe him, but that was a cracking drive by Hamilton. The team rolled the dice and he made it work. Great racing between Max and Lewis when they were close together. Max was firm enough and safe in his defending, Lewis gave him respect. Let's hope we see more of that this year.

RBR strategy lost Max the race. They should have put him on brand new Softs after Ham had pitted the second time.

1 stop probably seemed flavour of the day, Lewis pushed him so much (with the knowledge he was going to pit) after the first stop RBR just had to stay ahead and manage. I think it was more of a trap than RBR messing up

Well, they didn't win so by definition they messed up I guess.

It wasn't the strategy, max didn't have the pace.

On race pace yes. Lewis spent the vast majority of the race Within 1.5 seconds of Max. That would not have happened if Max was faster or at least equal in race Pace to Lewis.

This might put an end to the myth that RBR has less deg than the Merc. Verstappen was basically driving a rally car on the in-lap of the first stint and slided around quite a lot a bit into the second stint. The Merc looked planted no matter how close Hamilton was behind Verstappen.

It will probably continue to be close this season... but this was a worrying message from Merc..

he already made it clear last year in russia by giving toe to verstappen. he cannot fight lewis and that is why, he gets away from verstappen, allowing him to fight. he is happy finishing 30 seconds to a lap down. that is why he is liked by mercedes fans.
