he said it will be after monaco
Fernando Alonso will get a tweaked power steering system for Monaco and beyond, as the two-time champion continues his re-adaptation to Formula 1.

https://grandpx.news/alonso-to-get-alpi ... or-monaco/
thanks
Nowhere in that article is there a confirmation/quote that this update will come at Monaco.
Alonso himself said in Spain on Sunday that modifications specifically for him are coming, but after Monaco only.

yes, i have read original article where Alonso says it will be soon but not in Monaco, but if you google "fernando alonso power steering" now it shows many articles in last 24 hours stating it will be in Monaco, so i don' t know 🤷

All these articles are copies of the same thing, where one agency is spreading "news" which sites pay for. The title just doesn't fit the article, and fits in my clickbait category (and if the title is true, the article is badly composed).

I'll be really surprised if the power steering adjustments are there at Monaco.

Remember Yarno Trulli at Caterham? Reminds me of that time. Hope it helps Fernando.

Trulli underperformed for half of the season before he got a steering rack that sutied his driving style.

It was also quite a thing for Raikkonen in Lotus, if my memory serves me well.

Kimi was the same at Lotus and Ferrari, getting the steering speed/feel right is a huge thing for some drivers.

of course it is very important .To apprciate the implications of steering input speed one has to experience the effects of steering ratio changes.
A more indirect steering will calm down
the cars initial response to quick and excessive driver inputs but it will slow down input also if you need to counter a cars "own mind " , so catching a snap oversteer with a slow indirect rack is virtually impossible ...many drivers therefore prefer a non linear response with a fairly indirect slow centre position but progression of directness with more
steering input to be able to catch a snap oversteer situation without having a super nervous, steering on straights and, fast corners making it difficult to precisely guide the car on a line without tightening the, steering which inevitably costs, time.
