I guess the colours of seat belt and the shoulder pats made him think it was Alpine??? :?: :?:

I wonder what updates they can bring to improve race pace because the car seems to have better qualifying pace than race pace.
Really ? Cause in Portugal Alonso was really killing it in the final stint. Alonso did say they got the Balance wrong in Spain.

Portugal on mediums with Alonso almost seems like the exception now but yes you’re right that’s more like the pace I was expecting. Hopefully Alonso’s new steering rack will help him be able to set the car up more to his liking now if he gets it this race.

How is this possible? Isn't Alonso steering in enough? Or does the car have too much under steering?

To me, in the onboard camera, it looks like hitting the steering rack limit. The only moment I see a clear understeer is at his last effort to brake / stop the car to prevent it from hitting the wall, or trying no to hit so hard.

Looks like Alpine is struggling in monaco to get upto speed. alfa , aston and torro rosso looked comfortably faster. what went wrong ? they were looking great in last sector of barcelona .

Not hard to get traffic in Monaco on a lap. Looked for the long run data, it isn't available yet. So not much to go on. Can't even load up the live time replay to check. The sector times ...Sometimes, when a driver get stuck in traffic on a fastest lap, you'll see that if you add up the 3 best sectors they give a far better BEST time than the Best lap time.

Anyways, they still need to crunch the data for FP3. We'll know more then.

Plain old understeer! Going too fast and off the racing line with no grip. Missed the apex by about a foot (300mm for metric enthusiasts :D ).

Quoting myself only to say that I've seen the footage another time. I would say I was wrong. Plenty of understeering

If it hit the steering rack limit there you'd have to do a 3 point turn around the hairpin ;)
