Well he kept it together. Can't ask for much more from your new driver.

Superb race from start to finish for Sainz.

Sainz proved today that Ferrari made the right call making him part of the team... Great drive from him all weekend long and showing up when the team needed him to do so!

I wonder if Ferrari is officially done developing this car. Don't think they've changed/tested any new parts since practice at Imola.
Judging by the latest interview they are basically focused on 2022, first chassis should be read somewhere during summer. We can probably except few parts that were done way before.

+ Developing completely new engine concept and also developing new combustion concept because of change of fuel

So, does that mean they see good numbers, or that they are behind development?
If you cannot afford to loose a week it means....??? I
I saw the answer to this in a different interview.
It means that since the concept is so new, every new iteration they do yields great improvements.
They don't want waste time making the SF21 2 tenths faster when they can bring half a second to the 22 project in that time.

I have a feeling that for this year, Ferrari wanted to test their tools more than anything. Now that they have the answer, use the time and resources for 2022.

The parts that needed to be changed after Lecler's crash:

I wonder how that will affect Ferrari's budget? I guess they aren't developing much for this year so maybe they can spend more on spares...

Bit gutted we didn't get to see Leclerc start and battle Max. Lost all interest in the race after finding out Lec wasn't going to start at all. Good work on Sainz though. The Ferrari pair looks to be a very strong one.

I wonder if they could have told Leclerc to bring the car to the grid so that to be able to try to fix it on the grid with about 30 minutes additional time.

30 minutes for a driveshaft? Is that possible? Wouldn't they have to take the whole rear end apart?

I think 30min is not enough for that but they could do it in the morning. However, as Binotto said after the race, they did not even look at that area. #-o

How do you not check that while checking the transmission. It literally sticks out of it!

The hub doesn't stick out of the transmission.

They should have just changed almost all the rear end (whatever they can change without any penalty)
How did they miss this?
