Red Bull RB16B

Considering the groans of cost from Horner about rear wing changes, I find it ironic how developed this wing is for this circuit.

Impressive nonetheless, I wonder if having a flat endplate is a easy win for reducing drag of the rear wing?
That's not irony is it? That's budgeting planned vs unplanned costs?

I don’t believe any team is very bothered about those costs just yet. So far it has been very political. Really making things seem like a big blow etc.

Edit: It also seems like they have 2 versions, the second one with trimmed flap.

And no Gurney flap

At which races did Red Bull use the flex-wing? Only Barcelona right?
True GOATs don’t need the help of superior material to win.

Tom Brady, Usain Bolt are true GOATs.

It was seen as early as Austria last year, Barcelona is just the race when it was forced into the lime light.

So they clip the outer corners of the RW to ease off the flexing huh.

Or to tune the profile of the wing to local airspeed across the whole width, the end plate has been changed too; that is the area where the any flex will have been occurring, the wing structure is (relatively) stiff.

Or to reduce drag/improve air flow from the coke bottle area and rear end of the floor underneath the rear wing.

If that flexes similar to their previous wing I can see that section at the ends becoming aero neutral at speed. Add DRS on top and I wouldn't be suprised to see them topping the speed trap. They have the fastest car in qualifying, so they appear to be focusing on ways to keep the faster Mercedes at bay during the races.

Regarding the wing, RBR was planning on updating the rear end, so the cost is not that much of a juggling act. They wanted to keep improving the front end, but it's at a pretty good level, and some good gains can be made in the rear.

@somersf1 - A VERY tiny difference between Perez and Verstappen with their rear wing setup but if you look closely you'll see there's a slither taken off the trailing edge of Max's top flap (easiest to see where the H of the Honda is)
