Seriously impressed.
Mercedes giving Leclerc a tow was the key. He was a purple S1 until the red flag too.
Sainz was green until the crash and probably would’ve gone P4 at the very least. Knowing him he’ll try to get a jump at the start.
Binotto is looking like the real deal right now. If the 2022 car shows this level of improvement...
Binotto has never looked like not being the real deal. He seems to exactly know what is needed for success. With him came the significant and key change of mindset. No extreme reshuffeling and head rolling after a poor season. Consistency is what he's been seeking for and that's the way to go to build a proper working environment. He has faith in the existing (in his words also young) team. No need to do big changes, just little refinements here and there. This season we're seeing improvements on every aspect, from correlation/upgrades, strategy, car setup/preparation to pit stops.
What I also like with Binotto is his straightforwardness. No illusions, just straight facts. From the beginning on he's told fans that it will take some time to get on top eventually.
100% agree… I really like Binotto. No-nonsense. Admit your mistakes and your shortcomings and face them head on. No need to make rash, knee-jerk reactions. Continuous improvement is the key.
People fail to see the bigger picture. The stability and faith is the biggest key. You can't believe in something if it's not real, what better way to make something real other than permanence. Ferrari itself is built on that permanence, that's what makes it real. The history of Ferrari, the buildings, the tracks, the cars, the soul of the people built around it, it's real, it's something people can believe in from the bottom of their hearts. That's why they have such passion. How can you feel that passion if what you have isn't real, built on something real and tangible for the world to see and feel.
If you are in touch with that reality, with that eternal truth, great things can happen. That is the soul that inspired Italian artistry.
