This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
alpine is probably alonso's last f1 team, so he isn't so critical about them
I think it should be the opposite if we assume it really is his last F1 team
IMO he isn't so critical because Alpine never promised any result for this season, it's a transition year before the new rules so this is not deceiving, but expected. Completely different to past seasons when some teams never reach expectations

Agreed, it's also difficult to be critical of others when you haven't been at your best. Sounds like you're blaming the car for your driving issues. In the Ferrari and McLaren years he was driving the wheels of the car.
Alpine might have told him to stay quiet about it.
On F1 timing, I kept looking for communication between Alonso and his race engineer. Didn't see any. Wonder where all that came from?
I doubt Alpine aka Renault can deliver a car for Alonso to win in 2022 straight away because they cannot even fix the Renault duster road car injector issue for years.

You do know the 2 aren't the same right? Alpine f1 racing in Viry-Châtillon is really a stand alone company that make F1 PUs and have little to do with Renault roadcar division.
Btw, if got the names right, it would add to your credability.

Not using exzact words, but Alain Prost almost confirming that Alonso will get new steering in France by saying "he knows we expect him to performe better in France"
"I have no idols. I admire work, dedication & competence."
Ocon is doing pretty good @ Alpine to be honest. Gasly has been claimed by AT and it's said Marko won't let Gasly leave for Alpine, so perhaps they preferred GP winner Gasly, but if they can't get their hands on him, perhaps Ocon is the best next thing for their desires/demands.
I would concider Alonso is intended to be their 'star' or 'rockstar' driver. The Hamilton/Verstappen of the team, and Ocon the fast second driver. Ocon has outperformed Alonso up untill now, which is no mean feat, but then again is it fair already AND is it fair at all to be beating a guy who had a major cicle accident just before season start of which Fernando still is having a jaw/cranial (upper) metal plate mounted.
Either way, Ocon has definately performed well and good enough to merit a stay. Not that he has anywhere else to go i'd be inclined to say.
I also believe Alonso is waiting for the 2022 season. Let's see how that unfolds.
"Explain the ending to F1 in football terms"
"Hamilton was beating Verstappen 7-0, then the ref decided F%$& rules, next goal wins
while also sending off 4 Hamilton players to make it more interesting"
But they need a top driver also. They had one with RIC, now they have ALO but even if he is back as a top driver, I don't see him be there for several years

I seem to remember him, as a rookie, giving Perez a run for his money in 2017 and 2018.
