Not sure if google translate will do good translation for those that don't read or speak spanish. But this article speaks about the steering problem.
Basically says that the geometry and steering are really particular and heritage from Lotus years (Raikonen liking) making it difficult to turn and doesn't have much feeling on how the car will react, making it the driver to handle it harder. The problem was identify by Alonso and they have been trying to correct but it is just a gimmick, not making the driver really have the real feeling. the full solution will not be resolved until next year when the design of the geometry can be changed

Good explanation. It’s slightly unfortunate but if it can benefit next year thank goodness we can see and deal with it for the future now.

Yes take your “world” back and please don’t ruin the tone of this thread in future after FP1 it’s so silly.

Alpine was also quick on the straights. The Renault engine isn't bad. Probably only a shade below Honda & Mercedes this season. With 2022 new concept & upgrades, it will be @ at par with Mercedes unless Mercedes upgrades their engine significantly !

Funny all the complaining about Alonso and after the 7th Quali of the year, it's 4 -3 in Ocon favor. Ok, not Alonso numbers but far from a disaster.

Agreed, tire wear stilll a problem. If it would have been better on the mediums would have finished in front of Ric and Gas.

Yes he always struggle with the softer tire at the end of the 1 stin they need to sort that out if they want to compete with mclaren

Very good race by fernando. Struggled massively in 1st stint but fought well and in 2nd stint was mega. Little surprised he remained stuck behind gasly for good 8-10 laps not sure why could not get overtake done. May be because tyre age was similar for gasly, ricciardo and alonso. Alipne suffering a lot in race.

Alonso was incredible. Still beat Vettel on much used tyres. And he would have got 6th if the DRS train didn’t happen. Fantastic race by him, we just need to give him the car to show his talents.. incredible after only 7 races and two years out, he has much more to offer and I hope 2022 can give him the opportunity. ;)

Because gasly was using DRS behind RIC otherwise Alonso would have got them both if they didn’t have DRS to save there ass

The other thing, as he had great pace on the hards at the end(1:37-1:38)... Obviously,if they had switched to the hards a couple laps earlier. Those high 1:41s at the end of the first stint just killed him.

Oh and that 3.7 sec pit stop :(

Looked to me that Gas was matching Alonso. They were both catching Ric. Once Gas caught Ric, Ric started to hold up Gas.
