They always run the fp in a very low engine mode. I wouldn’t be concerned. Seeing s3 times it’s encouraging. We will be there or thereabouts. Times are so tight on a 1:05 lap it’s easy to look too much into the times. Ferrari race pace looks electric though in comparison. I suspect we are going to duke it out with AT and Alpine for places 7-10
"Ferrari race pace looks electric until the tyres fall off a cliff."

FTFY.

It's FP1, we really can't say anything with certainty right now, other than no-one is showing their full potential just yet.

Wasn't it a really messy session with a number of hot laps disallowed? Not truly reflective of final pace then

WOW finally a new chapter in the long saga of Dan Fallows. This was a big story for McL a few years ago. Glad PP is staying at McL

Happy for Danny looking much better, right on the pace of Lando from first lap... from the sectors it seems Lando finds a chunk in sector 2 whilst Danny is quicker in first sector, maybe because Lando may be running more understeer on stepup

WOW good stat on during FP2 commentary -- Lando not just the only driver to finish in the points at every race this season, he's also the only driver to finish higher than he started every race this season. maybe a sign of underperforming qualifying - but also good to see race progress

It is definitely looking good for him… and McLaren. Exactly what we need in the WCC right now, 2 cars in the fight for 3rd

Big up Daniel for playing the team game with Lando so far this year, moving over & letting him go when needed, it’s what has given us a small cushion in the fight for 3rd

Now it’s time we had both drivers brining home the points

Watch out Ferrari… here he comes!

Slightly concerning though, it's the race pace. Nowhere near our competitors. Maybe they are expecting rain for Sunday and went for a different setup.

I can’t read tweets from my location, can you give details please? Thanks.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

In short, the team and the pilots are happy with the training. The chassis behaves well here.

Where the hell are you…? North Korea?

“ Andreas Seidl: It's only Free Practice but I think we have had two great sessions. Both drivers not fully happy with the balance of the car in the first session, so the team worked hard together with the drivers in the break and we could see straight away ....

I think that as often as not, our race pace doesn't look great on Friday. Then the AWS stuff comes out and shows a different picture, which is also hit and miss. So far though, race pace has generally turned out to be the highlight of the weekend.
