All I was saying is that it will be equally ridiculous if they punished Max in imola, same as Bottas today... both were driver errors not worth any punishment
Jeez it looks like everyone here are so defensive and touchy, looks like a kindergarten to me. #-o

What Bottas did today in such a small space full of people was not a driver error.

It was a conscious choice on his part to start in second gear, while normally you always drive out of there in first gear.
Was Bottoas spin into other teams pit space a conscious decision too? :D
No, that was the result of a stupid experiment that should never have happened in such a small space with people walking around, who could have been injured.

And certainly not by such an experienced driver as Bottas. Even rookies wouldn't try something like that out there!

I wonder if they made a mistake regarding the first gear ratio then. It doesn’t really make sense to me to start from standstill in dry conditions in second gear
In second you would be able to spin the tires up to a higher rpm, thus putting more heat into them. They might also want to avoid a gear change even if it equates to a miniscule amount of time.
So it’s actually only to warm the tires?

That is a stretch and completely different setting. There weren't any pit crew or marshals in harms way. Max has nothing to do with Botta's indiscretion in peeling out in the pitlane and potentially hitting pitcrews.

Are you guys lost or something? Or my English is not clear? Sorry English is not much first language.

No, your comparison is of two completely different things. Max's spin is not at all a safety issue, Bottas' was. Bottas incident could be reasonably punishable to avoid a recurrence. There is nothing wrong with your English, it's your reasoning that could be considered kindergarten-ish.
Both were error from a driver and both were not punishable... the only kindergarten mistake I made was to compare it to The Almighty MAX
I could have compared it any X driver's spins, I would not be grilled for it as fans of these X driver's are not as sensitive or defensive.

Do you have proof that no one ever have not tried anything like that? 🤔
You talk as if bottas is the first driver ever in f1s history to try this!

Would it be more accurate to compare it to Alonso spinning in Imola when he spun in the accident zone from Russell and Bottas. People around driver error, car spinning out of control.

Try what? In the pit lane between all the people, trying to start in second gear to warm up the tires faster and get out of the pit lane a little faster, because you don't have to change gears again (as @Dans explains so beautifully)?

Who the hell would be stupid enough to do that? Could you name me someone who does that for those reasons and puts people in danger as a result?

There's a fresh advert paint on the pitlane, those are usually very slippy especially if they have any water.

I wonder if they tried this new getaway because of they found out they lose to red bull on that part of pit stops.

Laying down all that rubber would help with the getaway during future pit stops! :D

According to the telemetry and the analysis on F1TV the getaway was the part where MB was faster than RB.
