I suppose Mclaren is so kind to the tyres that softs will work against the mediums of the rest.

Wow man, being 0.7s off in such a short track is horrendous. There must be some sort of problem. This is ridiculous.

Daniel has to be at least a tenth from pole to stand a chance otherwise he is out of Q2.

Norris is so close to a pole position I can hardly believe it. On the other hand it is dissapointing when Daniel is beaten by a Williams. I'm not having something against Williams but at this point that car is nowhere near Mclaren.

Let us just give Ricciardo 82 more races. Don’t judge him too quickly.

At this point Fernando Alonso has solved his issues and Sainz also. Why is Daniel still struggling? Is it a set up problem everytime?

Horrible man. Unforgivable to be this far off in such a short track. We are mid-season now, he has had plenty of time.

Is it a set up problem? Does he not know what he wants from the car? Is the car really that much different from the cars he drove in the past?

I've watched one of the Ricciardo videos where Button was visiting him and from their banter I got the impression that Ricciardo didn't really know how to setup a car. Perhaps he learned it, but that was my takeaway.

If the car is hard to setup/drive, it's possible Ricciardo isn't able to figure it out.

Is Norris a genius then in setting up a car? How was Ricciardo able to set up other cars in his earlier career and can't do it here? I so much wanted Fernando Alonso to have another chance with Mclaren.

It’s interesting that he’s fine in S1. (1 90deg corner) all the braking is done in a straight line. He clearly just isn’t able to trail brake the car in the high speed/having the confidence the car won’t step out and swapping ends on him. He loses all the time in the faster sweeping turns.
