Usually FP2 is quite telling though. Max lap was showing some instability so curious to hear what he thinks and if they can indeed dial that out. But all that powerplaying by always the same guys it not a nice read.

Norris not taking himself too seriously "ran out of talent" he says after spinning.  =D> =D> =D>
I love Norris and his banter. Easily one of my favorite drivers
True GOATs don’t need the help of superior material to win.

Tom Brady, Usain Bolt are true GOATs.

He does seem to come across as the young man living the dream of being paid millions to drive very fast cars and not quite believing it's happening to him, but very thankful that it is.

Never really sure if the laid back approach helps in the cut and thrust of F1, but his performances this year have certainly lifted him up in many people's estimations.

I legitimately love that guy... =D>

Like I said recently. A Norris/Russell Merc lineup would be scarier than Hamilton/Rosberg to the competition.

Why do I feel that with the current 2021 cars, we are just a few setup breakthroughs away from .7s covering the field in qualifying?

This is already my favorite season in AGES.. Maybe since the 2012 start with so many different winners (teams/drivers).

Mercedes is the faster car again this weekend. Those times set by Ham and Bottas are so fast.
Is that side A or side B?

Tomorrow track temperature should be about as high as it was last week. No single cloud and 26°C predicted for afternoon.

Did red bull use their new engine for fp1 and fp2 last week?

And am I'm right in assuming that they're using their old engine today?

If so that could account for why Mercedes seemed faster in their long runs and single laps today in fp2?

With the current record of prediction, that means it will be torrential downpour for the rest of the weekend... :D

All teams run an old engine on Fridays unless they're introducing a new one for the weekend so both last week and this week Red Bull and Mercedes were using old engines, by old I mean their first engine.

Sorry my mistake, I was thinking it was last week red bull introduced their new engine. There goes my theory lol.

Watching onboards everyone seems to brake too late and too hard into 9. It's actually a lot faster to be gentle and set up the exits of 9 and 10 than it is to just late brake. Since the corners are high speed, you can exploit dancing on the brakes to get the front wing working. 6, 7, 9 and 10 are where you gain the most. Turn 4 seems to be a little faster if you go a little wide and use the banking on the outside. Although using a wide arc is also very quick. The key is using little steering on exit, a slight drift at the point of turn in and full brake release so you can feed in the power sooner.

Using the kerb on 4 pushes you a little wide and although it navigates the corner faster it screws up the timing of the throttle.

LAST WEEK'S

last week's trend below proved to be accurate for the race. Mercedes slower by some factor. 4 tenths in P2 turned into 2.5 tenths in race (after setup change).

So if the report posted for this week holds true, Mercedes has made an improvement. They should be much closer in the race this weekend.
