So has the new floor helped get us in the mix or do we still lack race pace compared to Mercedes and Red Bull?

I dont see how Daniel can screw up Monza. Most of the track is literally straights with the highest speed winning there.

Before the season started, the story was Lando will be under huge pressure to step up with Daniel alongside him. Few races in, Daniel is under pressure to step up. I tell you what, the way things are going, by the end of the year, McLaren will be under pressure to give Lando a race winning car for 2022, or they could loose him to a Mercedes or Red Bull.

This year looks like 1997. The third best car is able to be in mix with the first two and claim a pole or a victory on special occasions. James Key came to the team last year just like Andrian Newey came to Mclaren in 1996. Next year just like in 1998 there will be a full car reset. Lando Norris shows Mika Hakinnen skills. Are we gonna have a repeat of the dominating MP4-13 with MCL-36?

Yeah it would be a shame in a way, unless he goes on to make it work his way and go faster!

I only have sector three to go off, I might go back and watch previous qualies and look at his corner entries. Maybe its only happened here and he is just struggling.


On to Lando... yeah, a tow would be immense, but looking right now, if he doesn't make a mistake he has a great chance of P2.

One other thing to mention is that with setup, how much closer we are to the front.

Perhaps we aren't as great as extracting the max as other teams as we were all discussing last week?

Let’s see where are at the end of Q3, it’s really amazing to be so close in normal conditions… You expect the gaps to be small though here, the lap is very short and only 10 corners, how close the field is might be a bit deceiving (or flattering for the midfield teams)

Absolutely Fantastic. Superb.
It's been a while having this excitement seeing McLaren fighting for a front row.
2012 was the last time I had this awesome feeling [it's been a long 9 years of waiting]. This paves the way to get to McLaren's former glory. Congrats..!!
