Makes me think what would the MCL-35M be able to do if they were able to design it the way they wanted and not have the FIA restrictions.

Is Lando gonna battle tomorrow or are they gonna protect the tyres again?

Depends what the data shows - perhaps new floor is a step ahead.

What do you think the MCL-35M would do if it was designed as it was supposed to be designed?

This year looks like 1997. The third best car is able to be in mix with the first two and claim a pole or a victory on special occasions. James Key came to the team last year just like Andrian Newey came to Mclaren in 1996. Next year just like in 1998 there will be a full car reset. Lando Norris shows Mika Hakinnen skills. Are we gonna have a repeat of the dominating MP4-13 with MCL-36?
in addition, everyone will start with a clean sheet of paper going into new reg in 2022, and plus with budget cup creates level playing field in terms of development through the season. Huge opportunity ahead

It would get the pole in Imola and Austria :).

Btw, did I hear that Perez starts on Softs?

Tomorrow I think a good result is keeping a podium position. It will be hard but that should be the aim. Decent result is keeping behind at least one car from Mercedes or Red Bull (without their damage/retirement).

I’m afraid that the Team is measured enough and knows that the important thing is the points… I don’t expect Lando to keep P2 during the race… But, the goal is clear and is to stay ahead of Ferrari, even if we have to drop back to a P5, it will still be a great result

The circumstances are too many and I am getting excited I might gonna see a repeat of 1998 with a Mclaren rocket giving Lando his first championship. The team and the kid deserves it as they are working harder than ever in their history to get on top.

rear end and suspensions layout can be more optimized if they have extra token to spend?

The Level at which Lando is performing will soon put Ricciardo into depression soon. Among all the drivers who shifted Teams , Ricciardo seems to be struggling most.

I was in tears at the end of that lap. Cheers, Lando! You are the man!!!
To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one's ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone. ― Bruce McLaren

Sainz ahead of Leclerc
Alonso ahead of Ocon (by a mile)

Are you surprised Fernando Alonso was ahead of Ocon by a mile? He is one of the best drivers of the last 20 years. Makes me think what he could do on todays Mclaren.

Let’s see where are at the end of Q3, it’s really amazing to be so close in normal conditions… You expect the gaps to be small though here, the lap is very short and only 10 corners, how close the field is might be a bit deceiving (or flattering for the midfield teams)
