In a near-spec series like that, a 1%gain makes you champion. It's going to be a copycat season for sure if they are all so similar that their aero ideas will easily adapt to other teams.

Conspiracy Theory:

Mercs customer teams all converge independently on the same-ish concept, and.there are protests..🙄

That would mean another power unit dominated era. We all know how that worked out in 2014

Newey's opinion on 2022 (2021 before they were delayed) 39m12s onwards if the time stamp doesn't work, continues after the advert.

When IndyCar allowed minimal development, there was still room for teams to find performance. Iirc Penske was able to gain quite a big performance advantage.

Ahead of the full size model reveal on the 15th issue #5 of the 2022 rules has been released ](*,) Looks like nothing major has changed to the rule volumes at least.

Looks like there's a new fuel bladder test to prevent the filler pulling out of the chassis.
6.2.2 Where the fuel bladder is attached to the survival cell, fixings must be designed so that if it is pulled away from the survival cell, the attachment will fail without compromising the integrity of the fuel bladder. For this assessment, the pull-out load for any fitting will be calculated from the clamp area between the fitting and the bladder (on one face of the bladder). Between a clamp area of 450mm2 and 13 000mm2, the load will be a linear interpolation between points (450mm2, 8kN) and (13 000mm2, 35kN). Above a clamp area of 13 000mm2, the load will be taken as 35kN.
And some new rear wing load tests and a ban on heating anything other than the outer tyre surface. Thankfully mass hasn't increased, for once :lol:

Is there a reason for the wheel covers to be like that, instead of completely flat? :?:

The very stubby and wide nose is also curious. Will the real cars retain the narrow noses which they currently have? The other FIA concept shows the front wing main flap extending ahead of the nose ala FW14B, which might be another possibility? :?:

I hadn't realised how far off the ground the front wing is. The mock-up car shows a strange downards slope to the front wing from the nose, in reality will the main element of the real front wings immediately curve down rather aggressively much like the Tyrrell 019 -- provided that is permitted?

are those steel rims there? :lol: Woah finally during winter I have something similar to F1 on my car 8)

Other than that, I don't like it. It just doesn't fit. Rear wing only does it for me. Else :?
