I'm surprised they didn't run these VGs from the start. Every other team had them and they appear to be an obvious device to help replicate the old floor design.

What was the point of hiding that lasagna floor when they launched the car, which they thought their rivals would copy, just to abandon it for what their said rivals had done from the beginning?

Appears that the rear wing is smaller than it has been.

It still looks to be running a huge rear wing. Which can't be great news as this 'expensive' downforce is the total opposite of Redbull.

The rear floor rule change has massively hampered Mercedes. It's given the championship to Red Bull.

I think Mercedes knew that in the winter even though they were making the "no one knows who's going to be affected" noises. That's why they didn't do much with the car. The rules basically screw a low rake car. And no one can turn a low rake car in to a high rake one in a few weeks, especially when there is a huge regulation change coming up too.

I think the token system hampers any meaningful rake changes, as changing rake concept without changing front suspension would be counterproductive.

It’s actually their lowest downforce rear wing configuration of the season at a circuit like this.
