This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
Unfortunately watching the timing throughout the race, my countryman RIC was still significantly off the pace compared to Lando. Struggled to get within half a second of Lando throughout.
"significantly off the pace compared to Lando." ???
Lando right after pitting on lap 22 was 11.48 seconds ahead of Ric.
Lap 52 so 30 laps later Ric was 14.0 seconds behind lando.
Lando only gained 2.5 seconds on Ric after 30 laps while Ric was defending like crazy against a much faster Ferrari.
Probably Ric's best final stint we seen all year is what I saw as without all the Sainz defending he would have shrunk the gap to Lando most likely!
Ayrton Senna: Pure driving, pure racing, that´s what makes me happy.
By the way, Lando's slow pit stop probably helped the team in the end by taking away the win from Leclerc. It's likely that Lando would delay Hamilton more in that case, especially if Lando could see he can keep Bottas behind.
Also probably a good reason why Lando shouldn't have fought Hamilton, Leclerc was ahead and by fighting a futile fight you only help Leclerc.

Pretty sure Lando had turned down the engine. No chance for podium after slow stop, and no need to defend from RIC.
Daniel mentioned after the race that being chased so hard by Carlos helped him learn more about the car and find more performance. Definitely good to hear.
I was reading the Team Stream and found a couple of interesting things:
A) Lando could have very well missed finishing as high as he did… After the Red Flag and while the cars were in the Pitlane, the team found a tear off stuck in the front brake ducts… This could have proven pretty bad with it been in the first lap of the race, potentially requiring a very early PitStop to take it off and most probably having to go into a 2 stop strategy and having to battle his way back into the race… With how hard it was to overtake (as we saw with Carlos and Perez)… Luck was on his side on Sunday.
B) The effect of the weather temperature on the tires… From the Team Stream:
“Higher temperatures also change the balance. The front tyres are affected more by the track temperature (as they aren’t on a driven axle). The general principal is hotter track = stronger front end moving towards oversteer; cooler track = stronger rear end and moving towards understeer.”
So… Depending on the car’s inherit strengths / weaknesses… The temperatures will play a large role in the pace of the car and why it would seem that warmer weather plays into Ferrari’s hands and cooler weather into McLaren’s
Yea I’ve tended to notice that when it’s warm it favours Ferrari or at least helps them to challenge and sometimes beat the Mclarens.
Regarding the horror show for Ferrari in France- was that a very warm day or was it cool? I can’t remember, the only thing I remember was that it rained over night...
