Ferrari SF21

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

When did they say that? I think its mostly solved for hotter temperatures. Maybe not for colder tracks tho..
There was a quote from Leclerc over at scuderiafans that the team has not yet solved the tyre issues from france despite the strong British finish.

This is worrying
Surprised to see that this hadn’t yet been posted but here’s some interesting and encouraging info on how Ferrari have been solving this: https://it.motorsport.com/f1/news/F1-te ... o/6636506/

It seems to me the rear wing and wheel have shrunk dramatically on that car?

I'd like to (re-)add the text of the tweet that included that image as it adds a bit of info on what those arrows point to:

Picture of the #SF21 monocoque from Spa. One can see air duct to ICE (white), empty space left for engine (yellow), mounting points for PU (blue), valves of fuel tank (red), thermax stickers (violet), hydraulic ducts (orange), side-impact crash structures (green).

They have made a Monza spec front wing. It doesn’t look like a modified wing, instead a new design

To me it looks like they've trimmed the last 2 flaps. Everything else looks similar. I wouldn't call that a new design

This is what I think. Elements 1-3 look the same 4-5 look shorter chord.

Interesting article over at the race regarding the engine upgrade. Binoto says he is still unsure when it will be ready. Apparently its "brand new technology on the hybrid side" which still need homologations and certifications among other things.

On a positive note, he said "It will be as soon as possible because we believe that running it as much as we can this season will be of interest for the next season.". this goes against my theory that they would wait as long as possible to not over-run it and need a 5th. I suppose they WANT to see how durable it is. Maybe we WILL see it before Turkey. [-o<
