Esteban Ocon secured a surprise win at the Hungarian Grand Prix after the usual contenders eliminated one another in the first corner at the start. Sebastian Vettel finished second, Lewis Hamilton salvaged with third after ending up at the back early on.
Yeah, He really isn't as good as some were saying. He was never amazing in F2, and that was against Mick and Ilott who weren't exactly great themselves. Rookie's like Russell, Norris and Leclerc were great at that level and Yuki was never anything like them.
As for the front runners, I think I saw the 2 Mercedes set their best times on used tyres, and Max was on a brand new set.

Exactly what I was thinking. I was very surprised to see Lewis qualify fastest despite not the best lap from him. And in the sprint race he was able to sit right with Max for over half the race despite the dirty air and balloon tyres. Will be very interesting this weekend.
That’s because we were running the C1-C3 tyre range in Silverstone, which benefits Mercedes massively. Mercedes also was the best car in Portugal and Spain on those tyres.
Apart from Zandvoort and Suzuka, we will not see that tyre range again for the rest of the season.
True, but the high tyre pressures seem to benefit RedBull more than Mercedes, so hopefully we wont see those high tyre pressures for the rest of the season.

His achievements were more impressive in the context of 1st year vs 2nd year drivers. Agree that F2 field wasn't the strongest, he's definitely quick though. Also some drivers struggle more with the step up to F1 - plus the Alpha Tauri is more competitive than the Haas so different pressures.

Looking to be very close. Perez, again, looking to be nowhere.
Can't be Perez at fault. Two poor drivers in a row can be a coincidence 3 a far possibility but ALL of them?
Must be some outside action we don't know about, especially when you look at the same drivers on other cars.
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

Unless of course Max is the driving god his zealots believe him to be.
