And Bottas had no room because of Ocon. But Hamilton must have been smiling seeing that RedBull right on his tail.

Yeah it’s extremely dirty to create space for yourself to have a clean lap. It was very very dirty of Hamilton to prevent Red Bull to send out their drivers earlier to avoid this problem to even occur. It was very very dirty by Hamilton that Verstappen avoided to overtake Hamilton on the outlap despite being told that he could do it if needed by his team on the radio. Lewis is such a dirty dirty dirty DIRTY driver.sosic2121 wrote: ↑31 Jul 2021, 19:11He was definitely trying to impeed anyway he could. He did however decide to finish that last lap even though he clearly gave up on it (he was 2 seconds down) probably wanting to still give Verstappen some dirty air at that last corner. He could have just pitted. Again nothing against the rules but he was definitely playing some mind games.
But I expected nothing less from a person that celebrates after sending someone to the wall.
What are you on about? RedBull first saw two Mercedes cars leave the garage on the very last moment while everyone was leaving for the last lap, and then send out both their cars. To late. It’s not that Mercedes planned to be in that position, but RedBull did. And not if Bottas and Hamilton had anywhere to go, the gaps all through the snake of cars was pretty equal. Bad timing from the RedBull pit wall and not enough cool from Verstappen to prepare his lap properly instead of doing some gearbox inspection.sosic2121 wrote: ↑31 Jul 2021, 19:11He was definitely trying to impeed anyway he could. I don't have a problem. You can call it dirty but it was legal. I mean Senna was dirty by this standard & for sure was Schumacher. And RB brought this on themselves with such a late release !Tvetovnato wrote: ↑31 Jul 2021, 19:29Yeah it’s extremely dirty to create space for yourself to have a clean lap. Having said that, to say Verstappen would have overtaken Hamilton is stupid. The track is very difficult to overtake without DRS & tyre age difference & Hamilton wouldn't have let him. And he would have run into Bottas. That part is a ridiculous assertion. And this is Lewis Hamilton, he backed out Rosberg in Abu Dhabi against team orders.
I mean if Hamilton could drive Verstappen into the fall @ 51g, then this is nothing. And that is how the remaining part of the championship will be anyways. There will be more crashes & tough driving !
No chance of that happening, If Perez stays out longer than Hamilton, Lewis will be so far ahead, Perez will be far far behind. Don't forget Sergio is close to 1 second off the pace, then add Hamilton being on Mediums and Segio on softs. So the only change Sergio has of being useful tomorrow is by passing a Mercedes or 2 at the start.
You known what would be really dirty? Being send out to late and then shove in front of the guy in front of you who is driving in the cue at a reasonable distance.Mr.S wrote: ↑31 Jul 2021, 19:34I don't have a problem. even this is unlikely, I think, considering that he starts on softs. If he tries to make them last until Hamilton stops, the gap between them will probably be way too large already anyway for Hamilton to end up behind him.
Apart from Redbull getting timing wrong I don't think anyone else had any choice.
