Red Bull could have passed if they really wanted.
Yes, very odd Max didn’t at least try, if there was so much free air in front of Lewis

Just seen qualifying. The booing afterwards is a bit childish and pathetic.
Like cheering when someone gets slammed in the wall?
EXACTLY!

People have displayed their passion an emotion in these ways since day zero, to expect anything else would be bizar

I don’t see why it needs discussing

Apart from they weren’t cheering the impact with the wall. AND applauded when he got out of the car.

And cheering a car going off is an absolutely common occurrence. See Vettel in Germany a couple of years ago.

.

It was obviously gamesmanship from Mercedes. Hamilton was more concerned with his mirrors than getting tyres/brakes in a window
Let's say he doesn't looks in mirrors, Max tries to overtake and another accident happens. Damn if you do, damn if you don't.

Given space in front of Lewis all he could do was keep the same pace and keep an eye on mirrors to avoid being overtaken.

Silverstone was my first live event and it's so hard to explain all the emotions of what went on that corner during that time seeing it all happening in front of you.

Watching on TV is so much different.
On the circuit you are waiting for cars to arrive at your location for almost minute and half and when they come it's over in couple of seconds.
Everyone starts cheering in anticipation and it grows louder as the cars arrive.
That incident happened faster than people's emotions had chance to switch.

1. Cars appear noise grew loud.
2. Incident happened and everyone is still reacting to the adrenaline while no one knows who actually is shunted.
3. When people realized it was red bull, next emotions were that he wasn't coming out of car.
4. When he actually did everyone cheered and he actually waved at us.

It's so much easier to be behind keyboard and say things to each other. However at the circuit there were Max fans as well. Some as young as my own kids. Whatever people feel I bet they cannot be mean to those fans face to face when their hero is in the wall.

I personally had no problem with Hamilton pacing himself on the out lap and creating some distance from Bot. He did however decide to finish that last lap even though he clearly gave up on it (he was 2 seconds down) probably wanting to still give Verstappen some dirty air at that last corner. He could have just pitted. Again nothing against the rules but he was definitely playing some mind games.
He was definitely trying to impeed anyway he could. Very very dirty by him.
But I expected nothing less from a person that celebrates after sending someone to the wall.
Yeah it’s extremely dirty to create space for yourself to have a clean lap. It was very very dirty of Hamilton to prevent Red Bull to send out their drivers earlier to avoid this problem to even occur. It was very very dirty by Hamilton that Verstappen avoided to overtake Hamilton on the outlap despite being told that he could do it if needed by his team on the radio. Lewis is such a dirty dirty dirty DIRTY driver.
Maybe you missed some parts of their out lap. Dirty to the bone.

Go and check out crowd videos on YouTube. There are zero cheers when he hits the wall

Yes, booing a dirty driver is really pathetic.
I guess calling him dirty after what he's done in last couple of races is also pathetic.

And surly it would be pathetic if got penalty for impeding other driver.

You will chose to ignore evidence posted on here to the contrary. Sky F1 and the TV director made that situation up. The commentary jumped straight on it and the cameras broadcast made it appear worse.

Afterwards the Sky presenters mentioned his first Q3 out-lap was 2m 10 and his second was 2m 13. Thats not the big drama this is being sold as

Was great to see Max and Lewis exchange a fist-bump after quali

I’m sure their relationship will heal quickly… if only the same could be said for their fans
I liked seeing that as well.

I know what I saw. He blocked him more than once. Then at the end of his Q3 lap he slowed down to impeed him.

I watched the outlaps from Bottas, Verstappen and Hamilton, on the onboard. Verstappen was send out by his team after Hamilton drove past their box, like it was planned to. All the way to the line he was right up Hamilton’s gearbox, almost busy trying to keep something of a steady line because he was that close.
Hamilton was constantly told the delta to Bottas, from 2 to 4 seconds until they came to the last corner, letting it go to 7. He was driving smoothly, because he has a few seconds of clear space and didn’t have to react to Bottas.

Bottas was driving smooth and told the distance to Ocon, Same as Hamilton. 2 - 4 seconds until the last corner, letting it open to 7.

What was dirty about the outlap? I applaud that Verstappen didn’t try to fix his team mistake by overtaking Hamilton, who didn’t do anything wrong or dirty.

What you saw is what your confirmation bias decided you should see while ignoring all the facts to the contrary.
